Scheduling software for field technicians
The customer picks their own time and the schedule stays accurate, down to the travel time.
One board for the whole team. stipt is scheduling software for installation and field service companies. You plan jobs on a dispatch board with a calendar per team or technician. Smart scheduling computes five appointment options based on skills, service area and real driving routes; the customer picks one through a booking link. Confirmations and reminders go out automatically by email or WhatsApp.
Driving time, planned in
Between two appointments, the actual driving time sits in the calendar as its own block. You see at a glance what really fits in a day.
Reminders move along
Move an appointment and the customer reminders automatically shift to the new time. Nobody has to remember.
Technicians manage their hours
Technicians keep their working hours, skills and time blocks up to date themselves, right on their phone. The schedule only offers times that fit.
Customers book themselves in. You send a booking link by email or WhatsApp. The customer picks from five times that are actually free at that moment. Double booking is impossible.
Nothing is final until the customer picks
The schedule knows who can do what. Skills, service area and each technician's own job duration are factored in automatically. Travel time is calculated along real driving routes, rush hour included. So the right technician ends up on the right job.
Frequently asked questions
Can the customer reschedule or cancel through the booking link?
No. The link is for picking a time; once booked, it is used up and shows the confirmation with a calendar file. Rescheduling or cancelling goes through you, after which you move the appointment on the dispatch board.
How does stipt calculate travel time?
With real driving routes, not straight-line distance. Addresses are converted to coordinates using open data from the Dutch government (PDOK) and travel times come from a self-hosted routing server, with a rush-hour factor. You see travel times live on the dispatch board and they count in smart scheduling.
Does stipt hold the five proposed times until the customer picks one?
No, nothing is reserved. The five options are recalculated every time the link is opened. On booking, stipt checks the time again against working hours, blocked time and overlap; a slot that was just taken no longer passes that check.
Do I have to use smart scheduling?
No. Smart scheduling is enabled per appointment type and is off by default. The dispatch board works without it: dragging, live travel times and the suitability check on skills and service area all keep working. You can start with manual scheduling and switch on self-booking per appointment type later.
Does the schedule sync with Google Calendar or Outlook?
No, there is no two-way sync with external calendars. The schedule lives in stipt itself. Customers do get a calendar file (.ics) with a self-booked appointment, so they can add it to their own calendar.
